PRESERVATION OF YOUR BEAUTIFUL
FINISH:
If
you have what we term an extreme exposure environment- i.e.- the door faces
southeast, the door is hit with direct bright sunlight most of the day, the
door has no portico or overhang, you live on a hill and get the wind and
blowing rain, etc., you may want to put on a top of our commercial extra hard
urethane finish. With varying conditions it hard to say how often, but we
have installations, 5 years old, all over the country and have yet to have a
customer consult with us about adding a top coat. If your door is hanging in more moderate
conditions, you have a big
porch, protective overhang, facing east or northeast, just forget about it.
Cleaning the door, You may simply wash the glass and door with a very mild detergent, 1 drop of baby shampoo in a gallon of water, and dry with a rag or paper towel. On my door, I like to use a CAR WASHING BRUSH, the one with the long soft bristles, and scrub into every nook and cranny, then rinse it off with clean water, I actually use a hose. You aren't going to hurt the door, glass or finish. But if you do, be gentle don't shoot a bunch of water inside your house. You may want be more conservative method on the inside. HA. HA. Never use a pressure washer of any type. Dave
